Manufacturer Warns of Deaths Linked to Fentora

Cephalon has sent a letter to doctors across the US warning of deaths and serious sides effects associated with the use of the cancer pain drug, Fentora.

The FDA posted Cephalon's letter on its website, in which the drug manufacturer reported the deaths of patients who had taken the drug. In 2006, the attorney general for the State of Connecticut reported the results of an investigation in which it determined that Cephalon had illegally promoted drugs for so-called "off label" uses. Representatives of the company have been subpoenaed to provide information and testify before a Congressional committee probing off-label promotions.
